Men and women alike want to have soft and silky hair. But how does one maintain this kind of hair. Nowadays, only a few gifted, and rich, folks have these. Oh, and babies too.

In this age of numerous hair products, equipments and treatments, hair is often over worked and severely damaged. Hair coloring, perming, blow drying and frequent styling are some of the common procedures that heavily damage hair over time.

It is recommended that with every hair treatment and procedure, it should always be backed up by an intensive conditioner to moisturize hair and regain its softness and shine. Also, avoid consecutive treatments. Your hair should have a resting period of at least a month between procedures.

If you are not fond of going to the salon but still have dry or damaged hair, it’s maybe because you are using the wrong type of shampoo. For dry hair, use a two in one shampoo with conditioner. Make sure you only use a coin size drop or less if you have shorter locks. Shampoos can dry your hair if not followed by an appropriate conditioner, so make sure you apply some on your hair after every shampoo application.

Most of us tune in to the radio and televisions to get in touch with what’s happening around us. Hot news is also delivered to us in form of newspapers and magazines. For those looking for showbiz and entertainment news, the tabloids are a perfect way to get information. But with this type of publication, some of them might not be true though.

To get extra hot news, just go online and visit popular news sites. They often update their sites and even have breaking news in case something important happens. It is important that we know what’s going on in our neighbourhood, state and country. We should not be ignorant about what’s happening globally too. If we are updated, we are prepared as to what ever will happen in terms of our economy, peace issues and so much more.

As the saying goes, with bad news comes good news. News doesn’t always have to be heavy, serious or tragic. There are a various announcements that can make us laugh and smile. Like when some scientists have discovered a cure for a certain illness, a favorite athlete has won a competition or when someone was rescued from a flood or fire. News about talking animals always makes our day too.

Are you going on a vacation? Avoid stuffing your suitcase with wrong type of clothes. Not only will they be useless during your whole journey but they are quite heavy too. It is best to bring only climate and situation appropriate clothes and save some room for your souvenirs.

While packing, consider the climate and the activities you will be doing during your vacation. Will you be going somewhere tropical? Will you be staying on a beach front hotel? If you are, it is best to pack light clothes especially cotton. Include shorts, skirts, sleeveless tops and airy dresses. Pack at least 4 sets of bikinis and cover up. Bring flip flops and lots of sunblock.

If you’re going somewhere sunny but will be staying in the city, it is best to pack at least one decent outfit and dressy shoes. This is in case you will be invited to any formal gathering. Bring comfortable clothes like jeans, slacks, shirts and cool tops.

While in vacations, it is recommended that you look chic and fashionable even if you don’t know anyone. Refrain from bringing and wearing lots of jewelries. Just one watch, a simple necklace and bracelet with earrings will do.

With today’s problematic economy, we all would want to continue with our routine but in a more practical way. If you enjoy shopping, instead of purchasing branded products, you should shop at outlet stores or thrift shops to save more money. As for the family’s annual vacation, it is now time for a change. The family can still enjoy with cheap family vacations. With a bit of research, innovation and compromise, everyone should have a great time at a lesser cost.

As much as possible, avoid flying to a different country or state. With the prices of airfare today, you could save hundreds of dollars. If you must go somewhere far, go for a long drive or take the train.

It is best that you scout for perfect vacation locations in your state before opting to go somewhere else. Search the internet, ask relatives and friends. Who knows, you might even find a local best-kept secret location.

If your family loves the beach, go to the nearest one. Maybe you can even rent a quaint little beachside house to allow your family unlimited access to the sand and waves. If your family loves the outdoors, why not go camping in the nearby, but safest, forest. There you can share stories and just be one with nature. You can even teach your kids how to start a fire or set up a tent.

For such an outgoing person, I tend to spend time in my apartment only for sleeping. In the matter of minutes that I get myself ready and grab a bite to eat, I’m out again in a flash.

For this weekend, I plan to stay inside my apartment for a change. I won’t be going out with my friends but instead I would just be relaxing and chilling. Here’s my weekend itinerary:

• As soon as I wake up in Saturday, I would cook my breakfast. No leftovers, no instant stuff. I would be cooking! Nothing complicated though, maybe an omelette or blueberry pancakes.

• My whole morning will be spent cleaning and dusting my whole apartment. It badly needs one.

• After a sumptuous cooked lunch, I would do the laundry and air out my plants. My cute plants are starting to turn yellow from lack of sunshine.

• Saturday afternoon and night will be spent reading a good hardbound book in bed. Preferably with a can of root beer and some chips on hand. By 9:00pm, I should be asleep to catch up one a much needed beauty sleep.

• Early Sunday morning will be workout time. There’s no need to go to the gym. I’ll just to a bit of sit-ups and some jumping jacks.

• After breakfast, it’s phone-a-friend time and invite one or two over for DVD movies marathon that will probably last the whole day.

It might sound so boring for some of you, but for me, it will be pure bliss.
